Hey guys, the Rivals.com top 150 basketball recruits list for 2016 was released. Here are where key Cal targets stacked up.
#15. T.J. Leaf (4-star power forward from El Cajon, CA): T.J. Leaf is the highest ranked player that is a key target of Cal right now. 4-star point guard Dennis Smith is ranked #4 and received an offer from Cal, but he isn't a key target. Anyways, T.J. Leaf is ranked really high and it is exciting that he is going to be visiting Cal in the fall!
#35. Schnider Herard (4-star center from Plano, TX): Herard has trimmed his list of schools down to five and Cal is one of those five. Stay tuned for an update on when he'll visit the school.
#43. Javin Montgomery-DeLaurier (4-star power forward from Charlottesville, VA): Javin cracks the top 50, but at this point, it doesn't seem likely he'll come to Cal. Cal wasn't one of the four schools he said he'll be visiting. But he is still a key target of the program.
#59. Charlie Moore (4-star point guard from Chicago, IL): The main thing to note here is that Charlie jumped from 131 to 59 and that he has now been bumped up to 4-stars. Charlie's stock is rising fast, folks and Cal really wants him. He's the only point guard that appears to still be in the mix for Cal to get in 2016.
#69. Jayce Johnson (4-star center from Santa Monica, CA): Jayce Johnson comes in at a respectable #69. The kid has a ton of upside and plays the center position really well. Kinda surprised he isn't higher up on the list.
#74. Vance Jackson (4-star small forward from Bellflower, CA. Currently living in Napa, CA): Vance Jackson comes in at #74. He has a very smooth and polished game. I fear that he lacks aggression inside at times and avoids contact. Perhaps if he does that better, he'll prove to be deserving of a top 50 spot or higher.
