I was checking the Rivals national basketball recruiting website, and their team rankings currently reflect Arizona at No. 1 and Kentucky at No. 2. Here's what they show. (Rivals rankings for individual players are in parentheses.)
AZ Ray Smith (11); Alonzo Trier (12); Justin Simon (22); Chance Comanche (33)
KU: Skal Labissierre (4); Isaiah Briscoe (9); Charles Matthews (33)
Cal is obviously unranked at this point, with our only commitment to date being Davon Dillard (133).
But it appears that Cal's class will at least be:
CAL: Ivan Rabb (8); Caleb Swanigan (17); Davon Dillard (133)
I think that might put us at No. 3. If we manage to add Jaylen Brown (2), then it seems that Cal should be at No. 1.
When was the last time Cal had the top recruiting class in either football or mens' basketball? When have we had even a Top 10 recruiting class in either sport?
