Hey guys, I just interviewed 2017 commit Jemarl Baker, Jr. He's a 3-star point guard from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Corona, CA. Anyways, I will get a full article and write up on him done ASAP. But, in the meantime, here are some key takeaways from my conversation with him.

#1. He wants to be a dominant defender and great playmaker: Baker told me "I just want to be a more dominant defensive player and be able to be a great playmaker."

#2. He likes his chances to play right away: A big reason for why Jemarl Baker, Jr. chose Cal is because he has an opportunity to see the floor right away. He told me "I chose Cal because it was a great fit for me and gets me a chance to play when I get there." He also added that Cal has a "family atmosphere" that made him feel at home.

#3. USC and San Diego State were his final three: Jemarl Baker, Jr. told me that the other two schools that he was considering were USC and San Diego State.

#4. He has a great attitude: Baker told me he wants to keep getting better, keep working hard, and reach his full potential as a basketball player. He's excited to play in the Pac-12 because every time you go out there, there's great competition and a great atmosphere.

#5. He studies the game: Baker told me he watches YouTube videos of the best point guards in the NBA to learn from them and see what they do to get by people, etc. He's a real student of the game. He also said he loves to shoot.

Anyways, that's all I'll give you guys for now. The rest will be saved for the article! Enjoy and Happy New Year!
