Earlier this week, I saw a graphic of the script Cal logo on a silhouette of California's borders in a recruiting thread IIRC. I thought it looked really sharp and loved it! About time Cal started taking ownership of the state of which it is the flagship university.
This morning I'm watching highlights of the Cal Poly MBB game and I see the same California borders graphic with a script California on it, but then the camera panned up, and I see a giant script Cal logo under the scoreboard. I see a scripted "golden bears" on the court, but the uniforms have a Block CALIFORNIA.
But then the Football helmets have the script Cal on a bear claw, a script Cal, or a Block C. I get it if the Block C is used one game per year for Roth game, but three helmet logos? WTF?
Who the hell is in charge of branding for the Athletic Department?
