Really need to improve - We were #61 nationally using Phil Steele's scoring which is average following an abysmal #108th in 2013.
I've spent some time with Mark Tommerdahl and he's an easy guy to like and like much of Dykes staff, he's surprisingly bright and worldly. Yet I thought he struggled last year especially with in game decisions.
PK is the obvious concern, though I have some confidence we will figure it out. We have a lot of bodies and all with decent resumes. Someone will emerge in Fall Camp.
Where I really want to see big improvement is with our coverage and return units. KRs were solid last year but PRs were disappointing and net punting was really low given how good I believe Leininger to be. Coverage in general needs to improve. More athletes and depth arguably will result in better STs so long as they are coached well.
Tommerdahl's La Tech teams finished 30th, 53rd and 19th in his three seasons which is very solid. Hopefully he finds his touch again.
