Cal announces future home-and-home series with San Jose State
The Bears will also face Wagner in a nonconference matchup in 2026, the team announced Thursday.

Cal has announced three future nonconference games for the coming years Thursday. The Bears have set up a home-and-home series with San Jose State that will begin in Berkeley on Sept. 9, 2028 with the return coming a few years later on Sept. 13, 2031.
The Bears will also host Wagner in the first-ever meeting between the two programs on Sept. 19, 2026 to round out the nonconference slate for that season. Cal will also host UCLA and UNLV in 2026 with a road game at BYU also on the schedule for next year.
Here's Cal's upcoming future nonconference opponents as it stands now:
2025: at Oregon State, vs. Texas Southern, vs. Minnesota, at San Diego State
2026: vs. UCLA, at BYU, vs. Wagner, vs. UNLV
2027: at UCLA, vs. BYU
2028: vs. UCLA, vs. San Jose State, at Minnesota
2029: vs. Wisconsin, at Wyoming, at UCLA
2030: at Wisconsin
2031: at San Jose State
