I don't understand why when Swanigan committed to MSU a lot of people were indicating that he was paid or something sleazy happened at the end of his recruitment.
I see this as an 18 year old torn between 2 schools. With Cal he had his long landing relationship with Martin and more recent one with Rabb. Michigan State is close to home, coming off a final 4 appearance and the leading rebounders are graduating (does not have to worry about playing time). He also gets to play for one of the most respected coaches in Izzo.
It's unfortunate he did not choose Cal, but that has to do with every expert had Cal as the leader.
We're all bitter about how all this went down. Just don't see $ being a factor in his decision without some more proof....Not a fan of the cryptic messages posted by Grant and other... "$" and "Playing without fire" means nothing without further explanation.
If someones is going to accuse an 18 year (or his handlers) of taking $$ they should come out with the proof. If it's something that can't be shared these comments should not have been made.
Not sure what he looking to study (if at all), but MSU does have some good academic programs Cal does not offer. And this is coming from someone who was enrolled at MSU before coming to my senses and returning to Berkeley.
