It's purely a #'s issue for Vegas
WSU has played three bad football teams and lost to one of them. They gave up 400 yards to both Rutgers and Wyoming. And they failed to run the ball on Wyoming at all. To put this into perspective, Wyoming ran the ball better vs. WSU than they did vs. New Mexico and North Dakota and the Cowboy defense gave up far less yards to WSU than they did to any of Eastern Michigan, North Dakota and New Mexico. While Rutgers surrendered 550 yards to the Cougars, they also gave up 470 yards to the vaunted Penn State Nittany Lions (sarcasm).
If you crunch the #'s, WSU looks bad. If you look a little deeper, they look dangerous.
Bottom line is that I believe WSU has a good OL and a good pass rush and those two factors alone give them a chance on Saturday. We need to bring our A game.
