Has anyone looked at Texas' schedule after us?
Their next three games after Cal are Oklahoma State, @ TCU, then Oklahoma. If they lose to us, they are probably staring at a 1-5 record for the first half of the season, with their only win being against the Rice Owls. That's one hell of a slump.
It eases up a little bit after that with games against K State, Iowa State, Kansas, West Virginia, and Texas Tech -- five games that are seemingly winnable -- but then they close the season with Baylor.
In the grand scheme of things, Texas has to be looking at their game against us as potentially winnable (although they are 7 point dogs, and rightly so), and has to see this game as potentially critical to their bowl eligibility hopes. Texas only has three or four more games where they should be favored to win. From their perspective, they are going to have to steal one or two to have a post-season, and stealing one from us would be a hell of a lot easier than stealing one from Baylor.
