... March 9th! Full release from Cal:

BERKELEY - Cal is scheduled to begin its 2015 spring football practice sessions at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium with a workout open to the public on Monday, March 9 (3:30 p.m. PT). The majority of Cal's spring football workouts will be open and conclude on Cal Day with the Cal Spring Football Experience televised live by Pac-12 Networks on Saturday, April 18 (11 a.m. PT).

"We want to share what we are working on with our great fans," head coach Sonny Dykes said. "We've been preparing diligently in our offseason conditioning program to get ourselves ready to get back on the field for spring ball. We're excited about the work our guys are putting in and the upward trajectory our program is on."

The Cal Spring Football Experience is an admission free and interactive event that gives thousands of Cal fans an opportunity to get to know players and coaches in the Cal football program on an up close basis. Several former Cal football players have also attended the event in the past and are expected to attend this year. Super Bowl champion and NFL All-Pro running back Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks made a surprise appearance in 2013.

Among the wide array of Cal Spring Football Experience activities scheduled to take place are …

- Cal football scrimmage
- Opportunities for fans to interact with Cal football players and coaches
- Commemorative posters (first 2,000 fans)
- Cal footballs (first 250 fans)
- Fun Zone with face painters, photo station and much more
- Additional activities, giveaways and details to be announced
- Cal finished the 2014 season with a 5-7 overall record and 3-6 conference mark to place fourth in the Pac-12 North Division for its highest showing since the 2011 team was also fourth. Cal's four-win improvement in 2014 was its largest since 2002.

The 2015 season begins with back-to-back non-conference home games at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium against Grambling State (Sept. 5) and San Diego State (Sept. 12). The Bears will also host Pac-12 opponents Washington State (Oct. 3), USC (Oct. 31), Oregon State (Nov. 14) and Arizona State (Nov. 28). All six home contests are on Saturdays. Kickoff times and television information will be announced at later dates.
