I talked to Jabari Bird, Jordan Mathews, Tyrone Wallace, and Cuonzo Martin after practice. Here are some key quotes.

Jabari Bird on what he has worked on this summer: "Improving my diet, making sure I stay healthy. Since my first year, I've been really injury prone and I want to stay strong and not miss any more games than I already have."

Jabari Bird on his health: "I feel one-hundred percent healthy right now."

Jabari Bird on the Australia trip: "We're ready."

Jordan Mathews on what he has worked on this summer: "I've been working on all aspects of my game, but pulling up off the dribble has been my main thing."

Jordan Mathews on being a leader on the team now that he's a junior: "I feel prepared to do it [Be a leader]. I had good mentors before like Ricky Kreklow, Tyrone has paved the way for us, Justin Cobbs, guys like that. We're learning every day and we have great leaders. I'm ready for it."

Jordan Mathews on having Tyrone Wallace back: "Having Tyrone back has been huge. Both on the court and off the court."

Tyrone Wallace on what he has worked on this summer: "I worked on my free throw shooting a lot. I've been knocking them down. My shot, making sure it's consistent and that I'm shooting the same shot."

Tyrone Wallace on his comfort level playing the point: "I think this year I'm ready. Reads off the pick and roll, knowing when somebody needs a shot. It feels natural."

Tyrone Wallace on the Virginia game: "I think it's going to be very exciting just to go in there. I've seen their crowd before. It'll be a great opportunity for us to prove ourselves."

Cuonzo Martin on how the Australia trip will help with figuring out rotations: "I think it [the trip] will help us as coaches, and I'll do more watching than anything. Just evaluate our personnel and who fits well. There are cases when we could have Jaylen Brown out there as our big so to speak. Just because he's 6'8 and 230 lbs. You gotta really defend him in transition. The most important thing for us is defending at a high level. The key for us is on the defensive side of the ball."

Cuonzo Martin on Kameron Rooks: "I think he's doing fine as far as the injury is concerned. We're just conditioning him. I don't want him and King getting as many breaks. This is part of their conditioning."

Cuonzo Martin on playing Kingsley Okoroh and Kameron Rooks together: "I don't know if we'll ever see those guys on the floor together. Never say never, but I don't see it in their future."

Cuonzo Martin on the schedule being finalized: "Very close. I would imagine in the next 2-3 weeks we'll be done with it."
