Cal commit Evan Weaver won a Washington state championship earlier this month and, based on his film, has the potential to be a very productive player down the road in Berkeley.
Other Pac-12 programs are familiar with him -- Weaver made the rounds in the spring and caught the attention of many coaches in the conference -- and they might all regret not recruiting him harder. Weaver has a great motor, a nose for the football and good instincts.
The downside is he probably needs a couple years to develop physically (hence the three-star rating). He shed blocks well in high school but that's because he was bigger than everyone, and the level of competition wasn't what he'll see in college. The framework is there though for Weaver to become a productive player for Cal.
