However, the less obvious reason may just be that he's a gem of a walk on.
He played at Bishop O'Dowd and was a solid WR with very good quickness. After graduating in 2013, he matriculated to Williamette - a small college in Oregon where he TORE IT UP as a true frosh.
He's small - 5'8" and 170lbs but he's mature after playing a year and RS last year. Given where he grew up and played HS ball, he's not likely to be intimidated.
He's got some speed, as he ran a low 7 60M and mid 11 100M as a HS junior in limited action. Basically an athlete that ran track a couple of times as opposed to someone who trained for track.
Perhaps he ends up a nice surprise in our two deeps this Fall. I could care less how big he is or whether he has a scholarship or not if he can play.
