What this means is that unless Ivan Rabb decides to return, Cal has two available scholarships for 2017-18. The information I have on Olivier Sarr strongly points to him being a commit, so if he has in fact committed to Cal, then that leaves one scholarship available. The most likely targets for that last scholarship would be Mark Smith, MJ Walker, and anybody else in the transfer pool (grad transfers and undergrad transfers).

The most likely thing Cal will do is target a grad transfer, but you never know with them. They cast their net far and wide. In regards to Mark Smith and MJ Walker, my gut tells me Smith lands somewhere in the Midwest like Illinois or Indiana. He just visited Indiana last week, so he's got strong Midwest ties. As for MJ Walker, same thing. Cal is clearly trying, but Florida State and Georgia Tech remain the front runners.
