Per this sfgate.com report:
"Freshman guard Breanna Cavanaugh has left the Cal women’s basketball team to focus on recovering from a concussion she suffered in September, head coach Lindsay Gottlieb announced in a news release Monday.
“After discussing the situation with Bre, her family and our medical personnel, we reached a decision that given her medical history, it was in her best interest to return home to New Jersey where she can fully recuperate,” Gottlieb said. “Her health and welfare is our No. 1 priority.”
There is no timeline for Cavanaugh’s return to the team, though Gottlieb said, “We’re looking forward to welcoming Bre back when she is fully healed and physically ready to participate.”
That's the old news here is the new reality
