I know the vertical set is looked down upon around here, but like any scheme it has its pros and cons. In my opinion, it's not a gimme that the kick-slide is superior to the vertical set. I kind of see it as the old 4-3 v 3-4 argument.
I will say, however, that for what Sonny wants to do going forward and the personnel that he has at hand, moving to the kick-slide is probably a good idea.
