Cal has landed a commitment from Utah transfer cornerback Quimari Shemwell this afternoon. The 5-foot-11, 167-pound rising sophomore played in 12 games in 2024 and had 1 tackle in that time. He'll head to the Bears with three seasons of eligibility. The Long Beach Poly grad was committed to Arizona before flipping to the Utes later in the process as a high school recruit. Shemwell was a bit of a late bloomer but has plenty of upside and should have a better shot to see the field in a bigger role with the Bears.
