espn aired a couple of unc games, so I took the opportunity to watch. A couple thoughts:
- Their qb last year was great, and he's leaving. He was really a gamer and wouldn't let a play die. Their o-line wasn't the best at protecting him, but it often didn't matter
- their top wr reminds me a lot of chad Hansen. Pretty fast, but route running and finding the holes in the zone are his strong suits. He also left for the NFL I think. But their other receivers had some height and speed, which worries me
- on defense, their front 7 was pretty impressive, and most of those guys are returning this year. If there was a weakness, it was in runs off tackle.
- their secondary was less impressive, and half those guys were seniors. I expect our receivers will have a major advantage. The question is whether our qb is any good and whether our o-line can buy him time
Overall, I'm not optimistic, but there are so many unknowns right now that there is still hope
