Larry scott says no: http://www.foxsports.com/college-fo...-bruins-pac-12-playoff-cfb-larry-scott-111615
I have mixed feelings. I do think one less conference game means we are more likely to see a CFP bid and one less game means cal might luck out and miss 3 top end teams and pull a iowa and get into the pac-12 championship game. on the other hand, I have little desire to see cal play san jose state rather than Arizona. It is time we get rid of the play the LA schools requirement since getting back into the south appears to be a non starter.
The other issue of course is this makes it more likely cal makes a bowl game and more likely we keep mediocre coaches around.
