So Washington looks to win the north but are a college football playoff possibility. In the craziest of hypotheticals, since we have beaten Oregon and Stanford is showing vulnerability and Cal is a different team at home. Lets say Cal finds a way to win road games versus USC and at Wazu. Then they take care of business versus Stanford and UCLA, and pull off the upset at home versus Washington. Lets say they come in second in the north and Washington with one loss wins PAC12 South and were to end up in playoff, would the rose bowl be forced to take the south winner, likely Utah, or could they bypass Utah and take Cal?

Unlikely scenario only because a UW loss to cal would likely kick them from playoff, and then they would need to lose another game since Cal has two losses, but just curious what rose bowl selection criteria is.
