If Dykes is staying, then we need to recruit Texas even harder than he already has. It is obvious with the group of coaches that we lack the recruiting power to compete with USC, UCLA, Stanford, and in some cases Oregon for California recruits. Dykes has not pulled a significant Nor Cal recruit yet that I can think of. The first goal would be to pull in some top Nor Cal talent, but getting top recruits out of SoCal is going to be tough.
With the new academic standards going in place, Texas is a great place to start especially because the high school's do not have the same limitations put on teams here in California with limited contact. There is great high school talent in California, but Texas high school's are spending much more time developing their talent base.
