Finally some real clarity! Well, at least at the top. Oregon and Utah do what I doubted they could, go on the road at a tough place to win and come out on top. After that, wow... The crazy injury attrition for these teams and the inconsistencies of their lineups have really impacted their results. I almost feel like doing these based on how good they were at their best before injuries hit.
1. Oregon
If anyone saw only the first drive for Oregon and USC last night, and then saw the final score, they would have been shocked. Couldn’t run at all in first half, but that sure changed in second.
2. Utah
That win in Seattle was as impressive as I have seen Utah play. UW gave it their all and Utah just kept on making plays to win the game. Huntley looking like NFL QB to my shock.

3. Washington
Most would have ASU here, but I don’t see them beating Oregon, or USC over next two games, and UW lost by less than a TD to #1 and #2 in its last two games. Cal and Stanford were healthier when they went down to them too.
4. ASU
Hard to see them beating USC this coming week, but if they do, they will solidify a top 4 spot for the season it would seem.
5. USC
It speaks to how bad the conference is that a 5-4 USC coming off a home beat down is this high. What is even more sad is that if they beat ASU this week, they will be #4 next week.
6. UCLA, Stanford, Oregon State
These three have all beat each other up, having won and lost one to each of the other. Maybe could put Cal and WSU here, but since they play each other this week, I’ll hold off. UCLA has won three in a row, but will be crushed by Utah next week. Stanford should handle Colorado but we’ll see. Beavs get reeling UW at home Friday, but would still be shocking win.
9. Washington State
Same record as Cal, but it feels Coogs are stronger at this point. Arguably should have beat Oregon and that loss is their best “win” of the season.
10. Cal
The Bears stink right now, but they have proven themselves with an intact roster much more than the bottom two have. At this point, even if Cal loses out, I can’t see them worse than this.
11. Arizona
So has the Sumlin death watch begun yet? It’s a lot more acceptable to give up 56 at home to Oregon than to Oregon State like the ‘cats did yesterday. If Helton can be in trouble, Sumlin sure AF should be too.
12. Colorado
This team is turning into the Cal of the South. The Buffs are poised to lose 6+ games in a row to end their schedule for the second season in a row. Lost their last 6, needing only one more win to become bowl-eligible in 2018. This year they could lose their last 8 games in a row if they don’t beat Stanford, having Washington and Utah to close their once again forgettable season.
