Did y'all see this? MLB has recognized hitting is way down, strikeouts are way up, making the game less interesting, which can drive down ratings. Position players also are having money taken out of their pockets because they get paid based on the numbers they produce, just like Pitchers. The bogeyman is thought to be "sticky substances" that allow Pitchers who use it to achieve higher RPMs (spin rate) on their pitches, which makes them move more and harder to hit hard. Gerrit Cole's spin rate decreased after MLB announced it was going to crack down on Pitchers using "sticky substances" and he was asked by a Yankees reporter if he had ever used one..
