The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that South Florida head coach Amir Abdur-Rahimm has died at the age of 43 as the result of an "undisclosed illness" just weeks ahead of the college basketball season. The former Kennesaw State head coach and younger brother of Cal star Shareef Abdur-Rahim had been a candidate for the open Bears' head coaching last year before Mark Madsen was hired.
He guided the Bulls to 25 wins last season.
