Fighting Irish have been to 6 New Year's bowls since 2000. They are 0-6, and lose by average 24.8 ppg.
2016 Fiesta Bowl vs Ohio State, 28-44
2013 BCS Championship vs Alabama, 14-42
2007 Sugar Bowl vs LSU, 14-41
2006 Fiesta Bowl vs Ohio State, 20-34
2003 Gator Bowl vs NC State, 6-28
2001 Fiesta Bowl vs Oregon State, 9-41
They're 4-3 in the same span in bowl games played before the New Year. In 5 of the 6 New Year's losses, Notre Dame had 2 regular season losses on its record already (BCS title game the obvious exception). Isn't it well past time that 2 loss Notre Dame teams should not receive preference over other 2 loss (sometimes even 1 loss) programs?!
