If you thought Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb were done getting honored with awards after yesterday, you were wrong. Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb got named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District IX team.

BERKELEY – Cal freshmen Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb added to their postseason list of honors Tuesday with the announcement that they have been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District IX team.
Brown and Rabb both earned a place on the Pac-12 All-Freshman team released Monday. Brown was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and was tabbed first-team All-Pac-12. Rabb was a second-team all-conference choice.
For the season, Brown is averaging a team-high 15.3 ppg while pulling down 5.6 rpg. Rabb paces the Bears with 8.4 rpg and chips in 12.2 ppg.
Cal (22-9, 12-6), which is ranked 24th in the Associated Press and USA Today polls, next plays in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament at 8:45 p.m. Thursday against the winner of Wednesday night’s Oregon State-Arizona State matchup.
The USBWA has selected All-District Teams since the 1956-57 season, its founding year. District IX includes schools from the states of California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Hawaii and Alaska. For a complete look at the all-district teams, click here.
