It's time to take a stand, isn't it?

Cal's administration plays its loyal supporters - like Calhoopfan - for fools. It wants all the money it gets from being in a Power 5 conference, but has no desire to make any concerted effort to win that its fans and supporters want, yet still has its hand out for donations.

I don't know if I've ever seen anything dumber than the suggestions people made on this board in the Fall about how the best way to support football is to increase your donations. Wny, so Cal can sign Dykes to an agent-friendly extension when nobody else wants him? So Chachere could get a raise? Look at Cal's assistant staff budget compared to UCLA? Are you kidding me?

Even if Martin did something wrong, Cal has f*cked this situation seven ways to Sunday. On the verge of establishing a credible hoops program with a coach willing to embrace Cal's culture and requirements, with the best two recruits its signed in over 20 years, Cal is now facing hoops program derailment. Combined with the Dykes absurdity, isn't it time for Cal fans to take a stand and go rogue?

My simple suggestion: Push Cal to drop out of the Pac-12. This administration doesn't deserve to be in the conference. They don't deserve the extra promotion being in it affords. Look at those f*cking horrible YOU SEE BERKELEY ads running for how many years now? They don't deserve its money - frittering away millions on coaches with no other options likes Dykes, and risking losing a guy who has accomplished far more in two years than Dykes in four, by having him coach without a contract. Pure idiocy, incompetence and indifference.

Just seems to make a lot of sense for Cal fans to call bullshit, tell the administration they won't be played for fools anymore, and that they are going to vote with their wallet if they are going to be ignored. If I were a Cal fan, I'd refuse to buy football or hoops tickets until Cal drops out of the Pac-12 or hires a competent AD that will make the commitments necessary to win and not habitually disappoint and embarrass its supporters. It's time to cut the admin off from your money until they stop trying to placate and pretend, and start actually caring about what you do.
