inter league play used to be called the World series. To exaggerate slightly, if the Angels and pirates meet each other 34 times in " inter league play" do they really need to meet again in the World Series???Don't we know who the best team is based on inter league play???I guess I'm just an incorrigible old-timer who can't stand many of the enlightened new ways ( read money)
