Cal lands commitment from 2026 OL Artem Korchagin on official visit
The high three-star center prospect from Georgia also holds offers from Duke, James Madison, Liberty and others.
Cal has landed a commitment from 2026 center Artem Korchagin during his official visit with the Bears. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound junior from Thomas County Central High School in Thomasville, Georgia came to the US from Russia a couple years ago without ever having played football but has quickly garnered attention from across the country. He is a true center prospect, which are difficult to find, and he doesn't have a ton of bad weight after getting a chance to look at him this weekend while he was at practice during his visit. I think there's a lot of upside here for the Bears, and I like this pickup. He was previously a four-star recruit at Rivals but has since dropped a bit down to a 5.7 three-star, but there is something there and think he could be a good one for Cal.
Duke was his only other Power Four offer, but I do think schools are missing out by not offering him. Cal was early in the mix with an offer last fall, and the staff certainly seems to like what he brings to the table.
