He just told another kid (an existing verbal commit) that his scholarship is 50/50 at this point, and that he should be looking around. What, eight days before NSD?
Harbaugh is getting some quality recruits, and he may land Rashan Gary and/or Boss to top it all off, but his strategy of recruiting over verbal commits and then cutting them loose at the last minute is getting him and UM some REALLY negative press.
I was on the PSU Board a few minutes ago (in a thread where Harbaugh was just getting roasted), and saw this post. Though you guys might be interested in reading it:
"I am a Stanford fan.
I helped him recruit the 09 class personally. And then was helping with the '10 class until I saw what he was doing to kids, and refused to help anymore. Yes I said PERSONALLY.
Off of the top of my head, in our 10 class, Tate Nichols, some TE who ended up at UVA, I think named Swanson, if I go back and look, there are others. Only difference was that at Stanford, he could hide behind admissions, at UM it is ALL out in the open.
The mistake he is making is he is extrapolating his experience from Stanford and getting away with it to UM and thinking it would be the same and that he would get away with it, and that is wrong to do for two reasons, 1. He cant hide behind admissions, and 2. Because UM is the big leagues with LOTS of eyes on the program, people are paying attention in a way that never happens at Stanford. He did it at Stanford and no one knew. Look at the attention he is getting at UM for essentially the same thing.
BTW, he is a genius coach, and will win lots of games at UM, but this shit is just awful and unethical."
