I posted this general thought earlier in the year and it seems even more accurate now.
We are so far down this river that whether Dykes stays or goes, the near future looks really poor. Without Goff, our offense will take a massive step backwards. Changing our style won't work as we have no lineman and no tight ends to play a different style than our current spread. We have no chance of becoming a smash mouth team and the defense still can't tackle. We may make an incremental improvement on d but it takes massive improvement to be even average on D. Our best hope for near term (which isn't an argument for keeping Dykes long term) is one of our qb's takes a massive step forward or the JC recruit Evans signs on and turns out to be a decent thrower with an added running dimension. Low odds on either of those occurring.
