4th Quarter was garbage for the Defense, I'm ignoring that for now.
DL starters actually did ok. No, they didn't dominate, but they didn't actually get run on all that badly at all. Also the pass pressure was better than initial impressions. The 2nd string DL OTOH was friggin atrocious. The long gainers on the ground that REALLY skew the yds/carry were against the 2's. The 1's actually were ok. The 1's actually got ok pass pressure as well, but not much in the way of sacks to show for it. Hawaii DID do a good job of not holding onto the ball for long. Bequette and Manley as a combo got KILLED in Run D. Kaufman isn't going to be able to do the wholesale substituting he did against Hawaii against some of the other teams we play unless Bequette and Manley improve vastly against the run. At couple times Bequette and Westerfield got ok pass pressure on, but Hawaii could hold without penalty, so.... The 3 man front/dime look was terrible for us. pretty much everytime we were in dime, Rolo made a call that we didn't defend well. The LBs had a terrible game. The more I watch this, the more appalled I am by the poor angles and tackling by the LBs in particular.
