There was a time long ago when Cal basketball games used to sell out and arena would be packed for non conference games. So far in the 2 non con games, there have been numerous empty seats. I can't imagine Cal ever having a better and more exciting basketball team than today, so I ask the question not to be critical, but just have things changed to the point that it's just a fact of life, and that Haas won't be full for non con games regardless of the team on the court?
There's definitely less incentive to go to games: between all the games being on TV, the inconsistent and often inconvenient times, traffic, etc, are those just too much to overcome? Based on how well the warriors pack their games even before the championship run, there's a robust basketball fan base in the Bay area, but maybe just the majority of them aren't into college hoops enough.
I don't know the answer, but it is too bad that this team isn't selling out every game, and I wonder if expecting anything differently is just unrealistic in today's environment.
Having said that, I expect and hope a much fuller arena when the conference slate hits.
