Boys basketball athlete of the week: Alec Hickman, JSerra

He was named tournament most valuable player in the Lakewood Xmas Classic. Hickman, a 6-foot-4 senior guard who committed to Cal, scored 30 points with 11 rebounds when the Lions beat Lakewood, 72-69, in the tournament championship game. He averaged 22 points a game during the four-game tournament. Hickman for the season is averaging 19 points and four rebounds a game.
