Vic So'oto spent the last two seasons as USC's defensive line coach and was one of my favorite coaches to deal with. He is the definition of no-nonsense, and that rubbed some players in his unit the wrong way. He has demanding standards and is an intense guy. Notably, five-star DE Korey Foreman played a very limited role last year because So'oto felt he hadn't earned a larger role through practice performance. He doesn't cater to anyone. I think it's a great hire for Cal.
