Ok, I thought why not stir up some stuff. It's the New Year after all, and the current posts don't seem to be going anywhere, so here goes. Urban Meyer an elite coach? Geez, he could hardly get out of his way in the final couple of minutes. In the second to last series (I think anyway. Didn't have it recorded) the announcers specifically mentioned how the QB should run the clock down before he had it snapped. Nope. Snapped it with 15 second left. Then when they get the ball back after the onside kick, they throw a long pass giving Alabama hope. Can't remember exactly how many seconds they took on their 4 plays, but it was only a little over 20. Boom. Alabama gets the ball with a fair amount of time but no timeouts. Ok, they won, but if that Hail Mary had connected, the time management at the end of the game would have been reviewed and OSU coaches would have been killed. If you combine both the 15 seconds and the amount of time they gave back on the incomplete pass, Alabama would have gotten the ball back with so little time, they would have had no chance.

Oh, then there's the OSU DC looking around to check and see if it's ok to call a timeout. Too late. Alabama scored.

So even elite coaches can get it wrong.
