I could only attend part of the donors' Zoom yesterday due to professional commitments and am happy to report the following without publicizing information that is deemed to be sensitive: (1) Monty Bowser and Joel Brown seem to be healthy following surgeries; (2) Jalen Celestine has had surgery and will need some time to rehab; (3) transfers PGs Devin Askew and DeJaun Clayton have been impressive; (4) overall 3 point shooting seems noticeably better; (5) our two incoming recruits have size and athleticism that are sorely needed; (6) Kansas State in November and Butler in December will be at Haas as the effort to toughen our non-conference schedule makes a lot of progress; and (8) the squad is about to visit Europe and play some meaningful competition, including in Lars' backyard. Lars and Sam were on the call and were very articulate. As usual, the pre-season optimism abounds, but if the PAC truly is weaker, Cal could escape the bottom quartile, IMO.
