It's been a rough season, but the win tonight over a solid top 25 team validates what the more keen observers of basketball on this board have seen for quite some time: Wyking Jones has a plan and is building the foundation for something great.
A few unlucky bounces of the ball and questionable calls in the non-conference period and early P12 play could have set the table much differently for this late season push.
With 7 or even 8 wins now potentially in our grasp this season, it's hard to dispute that the tide is turning. It certainly won't be in 2020, nor likely in 2021, but watch out for these Bears in 2022 as Wyking enters his final year. I think we'll have a solid NCAA bubble team if things truly gel.
If Cal hits 13-14 wins next year, some big name programs may come calling for Coach WJ. Might make sense to begin discussions about an extension now...
