Rabb is watching our games this year, and he can't fail to see what the rest of us see - a glaring lack of depth at power forward and center. Kravish's graduation will only exacerbate that situation. If we don't sign Rabb and/or Swanigan, we're left with what? Behrens, Moute a Bidias and Okoroh. And maybe Rooks if he recovers fully.

It's obviously pure speculation but, if you're Rabb and you're considering Cal, wouldn't you regard it as a necessity that another quality big (like Swanigan) commit with you in order to pull the trigger? Otherwise, Rabb is looking at doing it essentially by himself in the paint, and I'm guessing he wants no part of that. He strikes me as kind of a hybrid between a small foward and a power forward in that, although he can play with his back to the basket, he likes to face up his man and shoot from 15-plus feet a decent amount of the time.

I'm thinking Rabb will need a center or true power forward playing alongside him to be at his most effective in college ball. If he can't get that at Cal, why wouldn't he simply go to a KU or UK where there is no shortage of quality bigs?

Hopefully, Rabb and Swanigan plan to commit to Cal together, and this is all academic, but I wonder what others here think.
