one of the great myths of cal football is that tosh recruited a top 5 class that would've led cal to a bcs football game...that's a view held by casual bears fan but isn't reality...half of tosh's dumb azz 2.5 gpa guys were gone for good within a couple of years, most would've never played as upperclassmen
tosh's guys often missed half of the spring ball practices & never fully developed because of schoolwork related problems...the end result was a spiraling downward program which eventually culminated in 22 guys being on academic probation
the funny irony of it all is that the recruiting trip that tosh no showed jt while cleaning out his desk & telling shaq & armistead not to come to cal was over a 2.3 gpa wide receiver in maryland...amazing
