Not that any of this will happen. It could all blow up tomorrow, but which would have the greatest impact on the program?
1. Cal has an 8/9 win season, wins the Pac 12 North (would that take 10 wins?), goes to a decent bowl game and wins decisively
2. Goff wins the Heisman Trophy
3. Goff goes number 1 in the NFL draft or at least is the first QB taken in the first three spots.
All three of these things could happen, and they certainly are linked, but taken in isolation, which matters more in the trajectory of the program?
I'm going to say #2. That puts Cal squarely in the news, top QB and player in the counter, validates the program and helps get the next big QB stud regardless of where they live or where their father played. Detractors will say that it was just lucky, Goff would have done well at any school with a pulse etc.
