So it's a Grade 1 MCL sprain. This means there is a slight tear. Traditionally they say 1-4 weeks for full recovery. The question is does "full recovery" mean recovery then you can start practicing? Or does it mean you can be fully recovered in a week, and to be ready to play in games takes another week?
A few months ago I had a mild MCL sprain (stepping on a dog chew in the dark) that cause me to walk with a limp similar to the video I saw of Step leaving the arena yesterday. It swelled a little bit, I stayed off it for a day, iced it, and it felt normal in a week. Obviously I wasn't playing NBA basketball a week later, but it seems like it was fully recovered after a week, and I didn't have an army of trainers helping me recover.
My guess is Steph's tear was more severe than mine, given he was running, and I was walking, but it's tough to know for sure. My guess is he will be feeling normal in 2 weeks, but again, the question is, is he ready to play in 2 weeks, or ready for full-go practice and then have to practice a few days before he can play?
All I know for sure is GO BLAZERS!
