I saw an interesting interview with CU Coach MacIntyre on P12 Networks last night. He's having their Spring football start really early in March. He stated that he learned that from Duke coach David Cutcliffe. The rationale was two-fold:
1) if anyone gets hurt, there is a lot more time for them to heal up and be ready for the season.
2) gets a head start on a more focused "extra cycle" in the strength program.
That sounds really smart. I wonder if we'll see a trend towards moving Spring dates earlier across all of CFB.
