Early in the fourth quarter, the Cal offense milked the play clock each possession (using conventional wisdom). Not coincidently, we had several short series and lost offensive momentum.
I feel like we did the same thing last year after taking significant leads. Both Dykes and Goff commented about being one first down away and staying aggressive with a big lead. Taking minutes off the clock seems to be stifling that aggressiveness.
Maybe we should abandon traditional clock management until later in the fourth quarter?
