They won easily against a lower FCS team - USD. Yet, they showed who they are, a tough, physical hard nosed defense that is tough to run on and a physical offensive run team. Their pass defense intercepted the ball five times.
Their big, experienced OL and talented RB will test our run defense. And their defense is plenty of stout enough to make things A LOT tougher than Grambling did.
On the other hand, their passing offense and QB play were poor yesterday much like UTs looked vs. Notre Dame. And like Cal, two of their TDs were on defense.
This is a team we can and will beat but they will represent a significant step up in competition and approximating a poor man's version of what we'll see in Austin.
