A quick rundown of how things seem to be standing with the targets/wavering commits, based on several conversations coming out of the weekend:

  • AJ Brown: Pretty much ran it down in the thread of the same name. Things went great, but there is a lot to overcome. Maybe too much.
  • Nate Herbig: He had an awesome trip, but there is pressure on him to go with Stanford now that he's been admitted. Cal positioned itself extremely well, and I don't think a final decision has been made. What I'm trying to discern is if Cal did enough. They may have. Hoping to get a hold of Nate soon.
  • Terrell Burgess: talked to him and covered him in his own thread. Feeling good here. He announces his commitment on Friday.
  • Zion Echols: continue to feel good about Z re-joining the class, but looking forward to talking to him soon.
  • Cam Goode: I have a call out to him, but feedback seems to be positive about him staying committed to Cal after OV's to Nebraska and Vanderbilt. Vandy is the threat, and Cam is a very quiet kid. Stay tuned.
  • Paco Perez: nothing definitive here, which doesn't seem good. He did not re-affirm his commitment to Cal, that's for sure. Gut says preparing for his departure to Westwood is a good idea.
Again, I'll continue to work on getting a hold of all these guys (save Brown, who won't talk to reporters at this juncture). And if I can paint a clearer picture on anyone, I certainly will.

Mostly want to provide you all with what I've heard thus far on the main dudes.
