With the final round of the U.S. Open occurring today (Happy Father's Day, BTW), I have a question for the golfers on this Board. What would you rather win, the Masters, the U.S Open, or the British Open?
It's a very subjective thing, and opinions are likely to vary considerably. As for me, I'd take a Green Jacket in a heartbeat. I say that knowing the membership and management of Augusta National is a bit messed up. After that, I would put the U.S. Open and the British Open in a dead heat. The U.S. Open is our national championship, I know, and I like its egalitarian nature (anyone can qualify, at least theoretically). But the British Open has more history, and more international flavor. With international golfers starting to increasingly dominate the tour in recent years, and international golfers clearly putting a lot of value on "The Open Championship," the British Open has really come on in recent years.
BTW, LOL at how distant a fourth place the PGA occupies.
