A few names in here before I do an actual writeup.

- First, the biggest thing aside from watching players compete is seeing more of how the Cal coaches and players interact during the event. Sirmon led both camps (OL/DL and Skills), GA (and the DBs that were there) talked a ton of trash during one on ones. Toler didn't, but the WRs that were there (Remigio, Walker, and Young) did whenever a wideout did something good. Just a lot of fun to see everyone in their element. Coaches were in and out due to OVs and other visits (Chris Street was the one unofficial today), but everyone aside from Charlie Ragle was in attendance (OV with Tommy Christakos)

- I don't think too many kids among the group had offers from Cal (that'll probably come more with the June 22nd camp), but there was a bunch of talent on display.
Family Affair

Ari Patu, younger brother of Orin Patu, was either the best or tied for the best QB I saw out there today. Quick release, smooth, everything you'd want in a quarterback. He was commended as one of the top players on the day by the Cal staff

Also of note, Nino Remigio, younger brother of Nikko, runs routes exactly like his brother. Traveon Beck noted that 'he's just like Nikko, but taller.' (they're about the same height, Nino's a 2021 kid who to my knowledge hasn't played a varsity rep. He will this year at Mater Dei)

New 2021 DL Names On the Radar

DL Antwan Brown Jr.
DL Coco Lukrich

Two talented juniors to be who looked very solid in one on ones. Brown was an attacker in the 1 on 1s, and I overheard coaches talking about Lukrich's physical prowess during the morning.

Couple More 2020 Linemen

DL Cory Hall
OL Kyle Christensen

Hall's pretty raw at this moment, but he's athletic. I don't know why he's a DT in the system, he's an OLB type. When they did the testing in the early part of camp (broad jump, medicine ball throw), Hall jumped out among the group.

With Christensen, he's just fundamentally smooth, bigger than the 230 we have him listed at. He's probably going to need to add 40-50 more pounds at the next level, but he's solid.

Skill Guys Who Jumped Out to Me

RB Ben Bentley
LB Moon Ashby
WR Jordyn Turner
QB Carl Richardson

Let's start with Bentley, who I previously mentioned here as a top 5 score at the Nashville Opening regional. First, he looks like he's 25, dude has a full sleeve of tattoos on his arm (from what I've gathered, he's 18). He's pretty darn athletic though, real good in the testing portion, threw the medicine ball farther than anyone and had an impressive broad jump. I spent more time keeping an eye on the WR/DBs, but he stood out.

Ashby has about as Berkeley of a name as anyone at this camp, he was at the Best Coast Showcase I attended a couple weeks ago, but he didn't compete then for health reasons. He was back up at full tilt today, playing LB/DB/WR. This is a guy who could go one of two ways at the next level, either as an OLB or a S/Big Nickel depending how much weight he can gain. GA was yelling about how he could make Ashby money as a DB and from watching him, I'm inclined to agree. Fluid athlete at 6'4"

Turner is not 6'5", but he does have an 80" wingspan. Skinny as hell, but smooth in his route running. Had a couple drops that kept him from being a WR MVP, but I thought he did well.

Richardson's the younger brother of Stanford QB Jack Richardson, and is in the mold of a big pro-style QB. I thought he had the best arm of anyone there today, even with his camo hat. Dude will get more offers soon
