bill walsh was an old friend and i had, at the beginning, a running argument with him until i was proved right....his position.....standford was at a competitive disadvantage because of their requirements..my position.....you only need to bring in 15-20 new kids every year and, since you recruit nationally, it shouldn't be that hard to find such a small group of kids that meet stringent requirements....ultimately i was proved right.....we have a great university and it appears that we are recruiting nationally so i think we should be able to do, to a degree, what stanford does.....
