Just read wilners' latest blog concerning Cal's new " academic standards" which will go into effect this fall. Wilner had two points. His first point was that the new standards will make for a "bumpy" ride for the next 5-10 years. He concedes that 'the new standards may prove to be an "advantage" after 10 years. ( he does not explain why) His second point is that he wonders what both Dykes and CM are thinking privately. Here are my own thoughts----" 5-10 years?" In ten years from now dinosaurs may be walking on Telegraph ave again. Although my "heart" urges me to be optimistic, my brain advises me that I've seen this movie before. ( circa 1960's) when Cal officially "de-emphasized sports. My brain advises me to walk----my heart advises me to linger a while longer to observe the fall-out. I want to see the team practice. Pete Newell allowed his practices to be seen by anyone who walked into the gym.
